We're running for their lives.
On October 28, 2008, Duffy Hudson is going to run 50 miles along the Pacific Coast Highway bike path, from Pacific Palisades down to Torrance, and back again.
Why would he do this? To raise $50,000 for the St. Jude Children's Research Hospital!
The run is scheduled for October 28 in honor of St. Jude's Feast Day. St. Jude symbolizes hope for the hopeless. Anything and everything is possible for these children.
Read about Duffy's progress on his Blog Page, as he shares with you the joy and pain of training for this grueling yet inspirational 50-mile run (twice as far as most marathons).
Please sign up now on the pledge page. Your contribution is crucial to the success of this event. Remember, your donation is tax-deductible and you'll make a difference in some child's life.
I am so proud of my friend Duffy, for putting himself out there (quite literally) for the children of St Jude. Throughout our lives we all must set goals and face challenges. But having to fight for life over cancer is a challenge no child should be required to face. The tremendous cost associated with the research and development of cures for those children with cancer and other forms of life threatening diseases underscore the importance of Duffy's attitude and perseverance. And he has issued a challenge to us all. So I hope you will pledge support to him and his goal of running a 50 mile endurance event, to raise $50,000 dollars for St Jude's Children's Hospital. I think by his example he asks all of us how we will challenge ourselves.
